2 people who died from heat-related illnesses identified
The heat has led to the deaths of two people in the South Bay. They were identified as 72-year-old Dennis Young and 87-year-old Setsu Jordan.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- The heat has led to the deaths of two people in the South Bay. They were identified as 72-year-old Dennis Young and 87-year-old Setsu Jordan.

Both died on Monday. Santa Clara County has confirmed both suffered heat-related illnesses.

Health officials want to remind everyone that the elderly are the most vulnerable in hot temperatures, along with young children and people with chronic illness.

Cooling centers are set up at libraries, senior centers and other locations in the county, offering people air conditioning and water.
