The storm may be gone Friday morning but the mess is not. In East Palo Alto, a tree crashed into two cars on Beech St. and Pulgas Avenue.

Firefighters got their chain saws and started cutting away to get the tree off the sidewalk. It doesn't appear anyone was hurt but these Palo Alto residents now have two claims to file.

In Portola Valley, a large tree limb crashed into a home near Portola and Farm Road. The limb went all the way through the roof but no one was injured.

Also, in San Anselmo, a huge tree fell onto a house and a Mercedes on Tamalpais Avenue. No one was hurt there either. PG&E crews are still working to restore power to some customers.

The Westborough exit on I-280 south in South San Francisco was shut down last night after a tree fell down on the off ramp. Caltrans crews rushed to clear the tree.

Not far away, in Daly City, the CHP shut down the on ramp to southbound Highway 35 from northbound Highway 1. A massive pine tree fell, crushing part of the guard rail. A car wasn't able to avoid the tree and crashed into it.

"We're just advising everybody to slow down just because you never know what's going to be coming around the next corner. It has been pretty busy, a lot of trees that have been down a lot of traffic collisions. Just the usual during rain season," CHP Officer James Robrecht said.

The weather caused some problems on some city streets in South San Francisco as well. The traffic lights at El Camino Real and Country Club Drive started flashing and crews moved quickly to fix it.
