MENLO PARK, Calif. (KGO) -- Over 1,300 demonstrators are expected outside Facebook's headquarters in Menlo Park on Monday.
Drag queen Roma is leading the effort to change Facebook's "real name" policy.
A legal name is required to get a Facebook account, but some members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender community would rather use names that better reflect their identities.
Facebook closes accounts reported to be under fake names.
Demonstrators believe some people are using that policy to target individuals. "People are using this as a tool to have anyone that they find objectionable basically booted off Facebook. If you see someone that you don't like the way they look or think their name is fake, all you have to do is report them, it takes one click," Roma said.
The protest is expected to start at 11 a.m. on Monday.
