Report: Investor to take lead on Oakland Coliseum City project

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- There's fresh hope for a new Raiders stadium, now that a new investor has agreed to take the lead on Oakland's Coliseum City project.

According to our media partner the Oakland Tribune, the new investor, who has not been named, has already had several discussions with the Raiders about a new stadium, but none so far with the Oakland Athletics.

The city has struggled to find investors to redevelop the Coliseum site into a sports and entertainment hub.

On Tuesday, the city council is set to discuss extending the exclusive negotiating rights deal with developers.
