Settlement expected in Silicon Valley 'no poaching' lawsuit

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A five year legal battle over illegal hiring practices in Silicon Valley could come to an end Monday afternoon.

A United States district judge is expected to approve a $415 million deal to settle alleged "no poaching" agreements among the area's leading tech companies.

Sixty-four thousand tech workers filed a class action suit in 2013 claiming companies' refusal to recruit and hire each others' workers stifled their wages and mobility.

Industry experts say the settlement could end backroom deals between top executives in the area.
