SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A new comprehensive study is aiming to look at whether services like Uber and Lyft are adding to congestion in San Francisco or helping to alleviate it. It also looks at the significance of assessing these new transportation alternatives.

UC Berkeley's Transportation Sustainability Research Center, in partnership with the Natural Resources Defense Council, are launching a massive study this summer.
