The 88-second trailer doesn't show us any familiar faces, but introduces us to four new characters, none of which have officially been named.
The new J.J. Abrams-directed film definitely seems to have his fingerprint on it, with dazzling special effects and a score, of course, by John Williams.
Franchise fans from every generation were excited to finally see video of Abrams' take on the Star Wars universe.
Some praised the trailer for giving so little away.
