Ken Jeong ready to prescribe a hearty dose of laughter in 'Dr. Ken'

Going from successful medical career to acting isn't too typical of a career transition these days. But then again, nothing is that typical for Ken Jeong.

Jeong spoke about his new ABC series Dr. Ken and how his wife was a huge influence in him getting into comedy.

"She was like 'yeah, if you don't quit now you'll never quit,'" Jeong said of his wife after achieving his big break in Knocked Up. "I really owe it all to my wife."

Jeong also said that his wife has become an unofficial comedy consultant of sorts.

"She's my best friend, she's my partner."

Dr. Ken premieres tonight at 8:30 p.m. | 7:30 p.m. CT on ABC.
