In a star-studded show full of dozens of memorable moments, here are our favorites of the 2015 Oscars ceremony.

Neil Patrick Harris' opening musical number, featuring Anna Kendrick and Jack Black

Following the likes of other musical Oscar hosts, Harris opens strong with a visually and audibly stunning number that pokes fun out of the biggest stars in the room and inserts himself into classic movie scenes. That is, until, Kendrick and Black enter to steal the moment.

Patricia Arquette demanding equal pay for women during her acceptance speech

"To every woman who gave birth, to every taxpayer and citizen of this nation, we have fought for everybody else's rights," Arquette said. "It's our time to have wage equality once and for all and equal rights for women in the United States of America."

Neil Patrick Harris in his underwear...

Reenacting a scene from the Best Picture winner Birdman, Oscars host Neil Patrick Harris locked himself out of his dressing room, and took the stage in just his underwear.

John Travolta's awkward face-touching apology to Idina Menzel for infamously mispronouncing her name last year

Travolta had mistakenly presented Menzel as "Adele Dazeem" at the 2014 Oscars before she sang "Let It Go" from Disney's Frozen.

That wasn't his only cringe-worthy exchange. Travolta planted a smooch on Scarlett Johansson, and she did not look amused. Twitter users likened it to Joe Biden's strange caressing of Stephanie Carter last week.

Common and John Legend's Best Original Song acceptance speech for Selma reminds the audience that racial struggles still exist

"We know that right now, the struggle for freedom and justice is real. We live in the most incarcerated country in the world," Legend said. "There are more black men under correctional control today then were under slavery in 1850."

Lady Gaga channels Julie Andrews in the 50th anniversary tribute of The Sound of Music

The Sound of Music (1965) swept the 37th Academy Awards, winning five Oscars including Best Picture and Best Music, with nominations for Julie Andrews and Peggy Wood for Leading and Supporting Actress.
