MILLARD CANYON, Calif. (KGO) -- Nestle is bottling water from one of the driest areas in California, and some people aren't too happy about it.

The Desert Sun newspaper says the company has been trucking away undisclosed amounts of water from a plant in Riverside County for its Arrowhead and Pure Life brands of bottled water.

The plant is located on the Morongo Band of Mission Indians' reservation. Nestle leases the property from the tribe which, as a sovereign nation, is exempt from oversight by local water agencies and doesn't face the same reporting requirements.
