$3,000 reward offered for capture of escaped child molester in San Jose

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- A $3,000 reward is now being offered to help catch an escaped inmate.

Johnell Carter escaped from the Valley Medical center in San Jose Friday.

The accused child molester got away from Santa Clara sheriff's deputies at a routine medical appointment despite being handcuffed and shackled.

The sheriff's office is still actively searching for Carter and following up on all leads and tips.
