GREENE COUNTY, TN (KGO) -- Three girls are recovering after falling more than 30 feet from a Ferris wheel at a county fair in Tennessee. One child has a head injury and remains in the ICU. The two others were alert last night at the hospital.

All the rides at the fair were shut down Tuesday morning and a big investigation is underway. Those three young girls fell from the Ferris wheel when their cart flipped nearly 90 degrees. Investigators are saying the kid's cabin got caught on the one underneath it and that's what caused it to flip, but one witness reported seeing the girls hit some of the metal railings when they fell.

"They just screamed a little bit, and then they were just laying there. Anyways, they called, everyone just called 911, a lot of people, and they had the ambulance and helicopters come in. I don't know these little girls but they were so little and I hate seeing something like that," said Lisa Bruner, witness.

Other people riding the Ferris wheel had to be rescued with a forklift and fire truck ladder when the ride stopped

There are several agencies involved in the investigation.
