SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Two separate cliff rescues in the Bay Area Saturday resulted in very different results.
A rockslide trapped two people at Arch Rock in Point Reyes, resulting in the death of one person who was awaiting a medical helicopter flight after being rescued. The other victim was transported by helicopter to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Across the bridge in San Francisco, two adults and a dog were rescued after being stranded on a cliff at Fort Funston National Park.
The dispatcher said fire crews responded around 5:30 p.m. to a report of people stranded on a cliff. They were rescued about an hour later, the dispatcher said.
