FRESNO, Calif. (KGO) -- A Bay Area man is recovering after being swept over two waterfalls just above Bass Lake.

The incident happened near Angel Falls on Willow Creek. Officials say Matthew Salah was trying to take a photo of the falls with his cell phone when he slipped. The current took him downstream until he was able to grab hold of a dead tree and pull himself out.

The man was hurt in the accident and rescue crews were called in to hike him out more than a mile to safety.

This is the second rescue in this area already this year.
