Father of Newark woman accused of cyberstalking Kris Jenner, Kardashian family speaks out

NEWARK, Calif. (KGO) -- A woman accused of cyberstalking reality TV star Kris Jenner and the Kardashian family appeared in court Friday.

Federal agents arrested 36-year-old Christina Bankston at her parent's Newark home on Thursday. She's charged with 15 counts including cyberstalking, identity theft, and cyberextortion.

We spoke with the suspect's father and he is deeply apologetic to the people he says his daughter has hurt. He tells ABC7 News she posted her $20,000 bail Friday afternoon and will be staying at a hotel, away from the family's home computer.

Federal agents stormed the Newark home to arrest Christina Bankston.

"I said, 'Hey man, I haven't had this many guns pointed at me since Vietnam,'" said Bankston's father in a phone interview.

The 36-year-old nursing assistant is charged in a 15 count indictment.

It alleges Bankston cyberstalked reality TV star Kris Jenner, members of her family, and two of her assistants over a six month period.

"I apologize to them deeply I really do," said the Bankston's father.

He says she began stalking people as a young girl.

"(She was) 11 or 12 years old, but it was by phone," he said. "And as she got older and got a computer then it was by computer."

The indictment alleges Bankston threatened to go public with a fictitious sex tape.

Texting Jenner: "Let's talk. My bad let's stalk."

Also, that Bankston hacked into Jenner's email and told others she was sick with cancer.

It's behavior her father says he's all too familiar with.

"All these people calling us on our cellphones saying that we were murdered," he said. "I said, 'Who put that out?' They said, 'Christina put that out.'"

Bankston's father says she is not a violent person.

"She needs medical help," he said.

Bankston's case is being moved to Los Angeles. One of her bail conditions is that she not make contact with any of the victims or members of law enforcement investigating the case.

We learned in court Friday that Bankston was just recently hired as a nursing assistant at Kaiser Permanente in Santa Clara. In an emailed statement a spokesperson said:

"This individual did not start work for Kaiser Permanente. She has had no contact with Kaiser Permanente patients. We are looking into this matter, and we will cooperate with law enforcement."

Bankston is due back in court Monday.
