The San Francisco Police Department released the bus earlier this week to the driver's attorney so that his experts could conduct their own investigation.

Photos show the mangled interior of the bus along with significant damage to the front end. Driver Ken Malvar has said the brakes failed.

His attorney said his experts have not had a chance to look at several components that failed because San Francisco police sent them to another agency for testing.

These include the air compressor and black box data recorder. The bus was towed to a storage facility in Hayward.

Twenty people were injured when the bus crashed Nov. 13. The driver's attorney says a more in-depth inspection of the bus will occur at a later date.

The CHP has said it never inspected the bus prior to the accident because City Sightseeing never registered it with the California Public Utilities Commission.

The CHP collision report could be released in early February.
