Fisherman's Wharf restaurant employee tied up, robbed at gunpoint

SAN FRANCISCO -- An employee at a business in San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf area was tied up and robbed at gunpoint early Friday morning, according to police.

At about 1 a.m. a male suspect entered the restaurant on the 100 block of Jefferson Street near The Embarcadero, police said.

The suspect, armed with a handgun, went into an upstairs manager's office and placed a 32-year-old male employee in a chokehold, officers said.

With a gun to the employee's head, the suspect instructed the victim to open a safe containing cash, police said.
