NAPA, Calif. -- The Internal Revenue Service is postponing certain deadlines and providing other tax relief to victims of the Aug. 24 earthquake in Napa and Solano counties.
Both counties were declared a federal disaster area, which allows the IRS to postpone the deadlines falling on or after Aug. 24 and on or before Jan. 15, 2015 through Jan. 15, 2015, IRS spokesman Raphael Tulino said.
The extended deadlines apply to corporations and businesses that had previously been given an extension until Sept. 15 to file 2013 returns and individual and businesses that received a similar extension until Oct. 15.
It also includes estimated tax payments for the third quarter of 2014 that are normally due on Sept. 15.
Other grants of relief also are available and details are available at the IRS website.
