Afton Elaine Burton, also known as Star, said she still plans to marry infamous serial killer and cult leader Charles Manson despite rumors the wedding was off.

"Yes, I am going to marry Charlie Manson!" she told Inside Edition. "I think he's the most handsome man in the world."

This comes after journalist Daniel Simone, who has written a book about Manson, said that he never believed Manson intended to marry Star. Burton said that Star and a friend devised the marriage as a plot to gain control of Manson's body after he dies so they could display it for money.

Manson, 80, isn't worried about what will happen to his body because he believes he's immortal, Simone said.

The wedding, which was announced last year, had been postponed due to Manson's poor health, Simone said.

Star disagreed with the writer's conviction that the wedding would never happen, relaying to Inside Edition a recent conversation that she said she had with Manson. Manson asked her if she was his wife "until death due us part," and Star said yes.

Star, 27, said she has admired the cult leader since she was young. A psychologist who analyzed Inside Edition's interview said she had deluded herself into believing her convictions are healthy.

Manson, who was convicted of seven murders in 1971, will likely be in prison for the rest of his life. Star said this does not matter to her.

"I'm going to stick with him whether or not he's in prison," she said.
