SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- Officials say a man who was armed with a knife and shot by San Jose police on Wednesday night has died.
According to police, officers were called to the 1300 block of Sherman Street on Wednesday just after 5 p.m. on a report of a male with a knife who entered a home that did not belong to him.
San Jose Police Sgt. Heather Randol said officers "confronted the subject on the sidewalk. The subject was carrying a knife and charged at officers. They ordered him to drop the weapon. He did not. They fired from their duty weapons, striking him at least one time."
The man was taken to the hospital where he later died.
