MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- A man was struck and killed by a Caltrain in Mountain View this morning, Caltrain officials said.

The pedestrian was struck at 10:15 a.m. and the collision temporarily shut down train service in both directions near Rengstorff Avenue, Caltrain spokeswoman Jayme Ackermann said.

The train that struck the man was southbound Caltrain No. 134, which had 103 passengers on board. No one on the train was injured, Caltrain officials said.

A bus bridge was provided to take passengers between the California Avenue, San Antonio and Mountain View stations, according to Caltrain.

Rengstorff Avenue was shut down in both directions at Central Expressway while authorities investigated the collision.
