SAN FRANCISCO -- A man who was found critically injured Sunday in San Francisco's Duboce Triangle neighborhood has been identified after hospital officials earlier Monday asked for the public's help in finding out his name.

The man was found on the ground near Duboce Avenue and Church Street at about 7:30 a.m. Sunday and was taken to the hospital. It was not immediately clear how he was injured, San Francisco General Hospital spokeswoman Rachael Kagan said.

He did not have a wallet, ID or other identifying items with him when he was found, so hospital officials sought help on Monday in determining his identity.

A neighbor called the man's family, who went to the hospital to identify him, Kagan said.
