Man killed, woman injured in Berkeley shooting
Monday evening at a business on San Pablo Avenue police investigated a shooting that left one man dead and a woman injured in Berkeley.

BERKELEY, Calif. -- A man was killed and a woman was injured in a shooting in Berkeley Monday night.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1900 block of San Pablo Avenue near University Avenue about a mile east of Interstate Highway 80 around 9:45 p.m., Berkeley police Officer Jennifer Coats said.

A male who was a victim in the shooting was pronounced dead at the scene, Coats said.

A female was injured in the incident and she was transported to a hospital, according to Coats. Coats did not know the female's condition as of late Monday night.

No suspects were arrested, she said.

All lanes of northbound San Pablo Avenue are closed between University and Hearst avenues as police remain at the scene.
