Man shot, robbed before crashing car into San Francisco Bay in Berkeley

BERKELEY, Calif. (KGO) -- A man was hospitalized after an armed robbery and car crash in Berkeley.

The police department shared pictures of an SUV that officers found on the seawall near the Berkeley Pier around 3:30 Saturday morning.

The victim had been robbed and shot in the neck before he crashed.

Police arrested a person of interest on unrelated charges.

The car was towed away and roads around Cesar Chavez Park where the Berkeley Kite Festival happened Saturday were closed for several hours.
