One transported to hospital following early morning Oakland fire

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Firefighters in Oakland have put out a structure fire in the 2000 block of High Street on Saturday morning.

One fire victim has been transported to the hospital, firefighters said.

Firefighters said a citizen was being rescued from a window of the second floor of the structure by ladder.

An ambulance was requested to the scene, and fire paramedics were treating a fire victim at the scene.

The fire was first reported around 6:50 a.m. and was reported out just after 7 a.m.

Investigators are responding to the scene.
