Pedestrian struck by car in San Francisco's Nob Hill

SAN FRANCISCO -- A 72-year-old man suffered serious head trauma after being struck by a car in San Francisco's Nob Hill neighborhood Saturday afternoon, according to police.

At 2:44 p.m. Saturday, the man stepped out into the street mid-block in the 1400 block of Pacific Avenue and got hit by a late-model Toyota Camry driven by a 44-year-old man, police said.

The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital with a life-threatening head injury, according to police.

The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene and was not arrested in connection with the collision, police said.
