SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- A man threatening to commit suicide unleashed a barrage of gunfire on San Jose officers who were called to check on him, killing a 14-year veteran in what the mayor is calling the city's "darkest hour."
On Wednesday, police escorted the body of fallen Officer Michael Johnson from the medical examiner's office to a funeral home in Los Gatos.
