SONOMA CO, Calif. -- A 14-year-old boy is missing in Sonoma County after he fell from an inner tube on Lake Sonoma Saturday afternoon, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded at about 3:50 p.m. to a report that the boy fell from the inner tube as it was being pulled by a personal watercraft, sheriff's officials said.

The boy was one of two boys on inner tubes being towed behind the watercraft, according to the sheriff's office. One was able to swim to safety.

The juveniles were being pulled through an area of deep water when they fell, according to the Marin County Sheriff's Office, which was helping in the search.

Sheriff's officials said witnesses told them neither boy was wearing a life jacket.

Dive teams are continuing the search Sunday morning, expanding to the channel area outside of the marina.

The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and Lakeville firefighters have been assisting in the search, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies are not releasing the name of the missing boy at this time.
