SF police locate driver involved in fatal hit-and-run collision

San Francisco police have located the driver and vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian in the Bayview District Saturday night.

The collision was reported at Third and Cargo streets around 9:30 p.m., according to police.

A pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene and the involved vehicle left the area.

Police said the victim was a male on a skateboard in his 20s or 30s.

Police now believe it is possible the driver did not know he hit the pedestrian, and the cause of the collision remains under investigation.
