Shots fired as Emeryville police officers on patrol

EMERYVILLE, Calif. -- Shots were fired as officers with the Emeryville Police Department were on foot patrol tonight, according to the police chief.

A single shot was fired while police were walking in the vicinity of Watts Street and Park Avenue around 8:30 p.m., Chief Jennifer Tejada and city officials said via Twitter.

The officers were not injured, but investigators found a 9mm round in a nearby wall, Tejada said.
