SJ police raid home allegedly run as gambling den
San Jose SWAT teams threw flash bangs as they converged on a house that neighbors say is run as a known gambling den.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- There was a big raid Thursday morning on a home in San Jose which police say was being run as a gambling den. Apparently, it was no secret to neighbors in the Alum Rock area.

San Jose SWAT teams threw flash bangs as they converged on the house. They took numerous people in custody and large bags of what appeared to be cash.

Neighbors we spoke to said this was not the first time.

"A year ago the house was busted for drugs and gambling," said a neighbor who didn't want to be identified. "They cleaned it out and a few weeks later they were back in business."

She lives behind the house in question.

"They busted two people in my backyard and the other people I don't know if they came over our fence or not," she said.

She took cellphone images of the two arrests.

In one you see a female suspect and a man taken into custody. The neighbor tells ABC7 News that those who ran, threw evidence all over her yard.

"I think slots, a lot of dice, poker chips," she said. "We had poker chips and dice all over my backyard."

All police will say is that it was a peaceful ending and they're interviewing a lot of people right now.
