Smoke forces BART passengers to evacuate train at West Oakland station

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Monday night there was a scare for BART passengers.

A rider tweeted photos from the scene. The photos show smoke that appears to be coming from inside the train.

BART says there was no fire on the Dublin-Pleasanton bound train, but that a mechanical issue created smoke.

This happened at the West Oakland BART Station around 9:30 p.m. and led to some delays.

Service was back on schedule by 11 p.m.
