SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Market Street was closed for nearly 6 hours Wednesday while police investigated a stabbing and shooting.

An argument between a Subway employee and a man broke out Wednesday morning, possibly over a sandwich. It resulted in a stabbing.
Police say the victim is expected to survive.
"All I hear is two dudes arguing and then the cops was showing up," said San Francisco resident Johney Jimenez. "And then they started arguing and telling him to get down. Just like hella nonsense."
Two San Francisco police officers were walking their beat on Market Street around 11:20 a.m.
"The officers observed a white male subject stabbing an Asian or Filipino male," said San Francisco Police Chief Bill Scott. "The officers intervened and at least one officer did discharge his firearm."
Jimenez says he heard the shots and saw a four-inch knife afterward. "I heard like two, that's all I heard."
This is the first officer-involved shooting since Scott took over the department. Some 2,000 patrol officers are now equipped with body cameras.
"The whole spirit of body cameras is it gives us a better picture of what's going on," Scott told ABC7 News.
"As soon as we see the body cams we're hoping they're in alignment with what the police have said so far and if so this may have been an unavoidable shooting," said David Salaverry of San Franciscans for Police Accountability.
Police have not confirmed if there is footage of the incident. They did take video from a Muni bus.
