SAN FRANCISCO -- The United States Coast Guard pulled a distressed surfer out of the water on Saturday near Baker Beach in San Francisco this afternoon, a lieutenant said.

The surfer in distress was reported by a good Samaritan at 1:17 p.m., according to Coast Guard Lt. Jake Urrutia.

A Coast Guard auxiliary boat was already in the area, and had picked the surfer up within roughly five minutes of the call, according to Urrutia.

No injuries were reported, and the surfer was safely transported to the Golden Gate Yacht Club, Urrutia said.
