Tesla car factory closed due to power outage
PG&E crews are working to restore power at Fremont's Tesla car factory after a crane brought down a power line Friday morning.

FREMONT, Calif. (KGO) -- PG&E crews are working to restore power at Fremont's Tesla car factory after a crane brought down a power line early Friday morning.

Since you can't make electric cars without electricity, manufacturing was shut down.

Factory workers were sent home at 6:30 a.m.

Tesla released a statement saying: "Most non-factory employees will work from our Palo Alto or other offices or from home today."

PG&E crews are hoping to restore power by this afternoon, but there are reports that they may not be able to restore power until Saturday.

Officials say no injuries were reported.
