UC Santa Cruz police arrest suspect in false imprisonment case
UC Santa Cruz police announced that they arrested a suspect in connection with a false imprisonment and kidnapping that was reported Thursday.

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KGO) -- UC Santa Cruz police announced that they arrested a suspect in connection with a false imprisonment and kidnapping that was reported Thursday.

A college student says she was hitchhiking and had to jump out of a moving car when the stranger who picked her up wouldn't let her out.

The suspect has been identified as 28-year-old Jose Calderon Ortiz from Watsonville. He's been booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail.
