A heart-wrenching web video of a Syrian boy faking his own death to save a little girl has gone viral.

The video was taken by men hiding behind a brick wall.

The footage shows people running from sniper fire. The camera moves to show a boy on the ground. He gets up and runs as bullets fly around him. He appears to be shot as he falls down. The boy stays on the ground for a few seconds, then suddenly gets back up.

He slowly moves to hide behind a car, then his purpose becomes clear, he grabs a girl who was hiding there and runs away holding her hand -- all while snipers fire more bullets.

Experts who viewed the video say they have no reason to doubt this incredible act of heroism is real.
