PALO ALTO, Calif. -- An amazing discovery was made at the bottom of the ocean.



Researchers at the Palo Alto based Schmidt Ocean Institute say their camera spotted an unknown variety of snailfish in the Mariana Trench in the Pacific. It was found more than 26,000 feet below the surface.



The discovery sets a new world record for the deepest fish ever recorded.
