LAFAYETTE, Calif. (KGO) -- There was a very special conversation in Lafayette on Monday from Earth to outer space.
Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts talked to astronaut Jack Fischer from the International Space Station.
You can imagine how excited the kids and their parents were. The scouts asked questions like what does he miss the most, and Fischer also told them there's never a dull day in space. He says he never gets bored.

When young Donovan asked what the most surprising thing he has experienced in space, Fischer said, "You just get excited. I'm like a 12-year-old boy after a couple of cappuccinos because everything I see is so cool. Whether I'm working on the toilet or doing a space walk."
Fischer also told the kids that their generation will make it to Mars and tests on the space station for that mission will begin this week.
