SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Residents of the San Francisco Mission apartment building that burned last month are rejoicing this morning. Things are looking up for them after a local blogger raised $180,000 on a crowd-funding site to help them find new homes. Fifty-four tenants were forced out of their homes by the massive blaze that killed one man.
Last night, 27-year old Zack Crockett handed out checks at the Salvation Army shelter where many had been living since then. They range from $6,000 to $15,000 the money came from a stunning 2,300 donors.
