Fundraiser for at-risk children to be held at AT&T Park
San Francisco's AT&T Park will be turned into a holiday wonderland for one of the Bay Area's largest fundraiser for at-risk children.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- One of the Bay Area's largest fundraisers for at-risk children is coming up next week. The Wender-Weis Foundation will take over AT&T Park, the home of the San Francisco Giants, and turn it into a holiday wonderland.

ABC7 News invited foundation founder Amy Wender-Hoch to our studio to talk about the event that will feature many sports celebrities. It's called Holiday Heroes.

"We just give kids an amazing experience that they're not going to forget," she said. "And for many, it's their only holiday experience this season."

Sze: "What makes it the ultimate party, holiday party for families?"

Hoch: "We have video booths, we have photo booths, we have a candy station, we have arts and crafts, we have access to the field."

Jennings: "We love the fact that you have so many sports celebs. Who's going to be here this year?"

Hoch: "We're so thrilled that Travis Ishikawa from the San Francisco Giants will be there and Steve Johnson and Josh Johnson from the 49ers."

Kristen and Cheryl are long-time supporters of Holiday Heroes. Its founding organization, the Wender-Weis Foundation, has been around for 20 years helping at-risk children.

The celebrities are all superstars. We've seen Joe and Jennifer Montana at Holiday Heroes, Kristi Yamaguchi, Jonny Mosley, and every celeb stops to sign autographs and pose for pictures for eager young fans.

And if you can't attend Holiday Heroes, you can still help hundreds of children.

"You can sponsor a family or a child to attend, which is wonderful, so you can also participate in our auction, you can buy a raffle ticket, you can make a straight donation to the foundation," Hoch said.

Holiday Heroes is Monday, Dec. 8 at AT&T Park.
