Sacred Heart Community Service giving school supplies to children in San Jose

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- Hundreds of parents are lining up in the South Bay trying to get school supplies for their kids.

Sacred Heart Community Service in San Jose is expecting to register more than 3,000 children today.

"These are things that cost $60 to $90 per kid. And what's really driving people - isn't just the need for school supplies. What's driving people here is they are getting hammered by rents," said Matt King, Sacred Heart Community Service.
