WALNUT CREEK, Calif. (KGO) -- Meals on Wheels got a shout out from some East Bay kids today. ABC7 News was at Walnut Creek's Civic Park as students from Tice Creek School began taking to the streets with a message about Meals on Wheels.

The students have been learning about the program which is facing cuts in a White House budget proposal.

"Meals on Wheels isn't just an association that helps with the food and hunger of senior citizens, but it also helps with their isolation in their house because they can't get out and get their own food, so they come and they talk to them and they get a helping hand and a friend," said Aria Kim-Brown.

The students marched through downtown before meeting with the mayor.
