49ers wait on due process to decide if McDonald plays
ABC7 Sports Anchor Larry says pressure has been mounting on the 49ers to take action on McDonald, but the 49ers have repeatedly said they will wait for due process.

ABC7 Sports Anchor Larry says pressure has been mounting on the 49ers to take action on McDonald, but the 49ers have repeatedly said they will wait for due process.

ESPN.com reported that if McDonald is in fact charged, he will face discipline from the team. That could be anything from a suspension to the termination of his contract.

While other players like Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson have been suspended or placed on exempt status pending resolution of their cases, McDonald has played in all four games for the 49ers this season.

The expectation is that if McDonald is charged, the level of discipline will be tied to the charges and the team will not wait for a conviction before taking action.
