Pelicans All-Star Anthony Davis has been diagnosed with a right shoulder sprain and is listed as day to day, the team announced Sunday.
Davis was injured on a hard fall in which he struggled to brace himself after an alley-oop dunk late in the first half of Saturday night's 107-72 loss to the Chicago Bulls, and he did not return.
The big man is questionable for Monday's home game against the Jazz, according to the team.
Davis' arm was tucked in a sling after the loss. X-rays were negative.
The dunk that drove Davis from the game was a two-handed jam off of Tyreke Evans' lob. Davis' body swung like a pendulum as he held the rum, then the 6-foot-10, 240-pound forward fell horizontally as he lost his grip.
Davis stayed in the game briefly before taking himself out with the score tied at 35 and 4:16 left in the first half.
