CINCINNATI -- The Oakland Athletics called up Max Muncy and started him in right field on Friday night for the opening game of an interleague series against the Cincinnati Reds.
Oakland also called up right-hander Zach Neal from Triple-A Nashville. Right-hander Jesse Hahn was optioned to Nashville.
It's Muncy's second stint with the A's. He was called up on May 17 and went 2 for 5 in two games before being sent back to Nashville on May 25.
Neal was called up for the third time this season. He's 0-1 with an 11.25 ERA in three games, including one start. He made his major league debut May 11 at Boston.
Hahn is 2-4 with a 6.49 ERA in seven starts over two stints with the A's.
