Blount clarifies shirt; Irvin responds

After pictures of the New England Patriots' LeGarrette Blount holding up a T-shirt that mocked Marshawn Lynch with a vulgar slogan at the team'sSuper Bowl victory parade went viral, the running back took to Twitter to clarify that he respects his Seattle Seahawks counterpart.

Pictures of Blount holding up a shirt with the words "Bitch Mode" and the No. 24 on it from the Patriots' duck boat parade in Boston were shared on social media. The derogatory slogan is a play off Lynch's "Beast Mode" nickname, and the number is the same that appears on his jersey.

Blount's gesture also caught the attention of Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bruce Irvin, who called out the running back in a tweet.

Irvin was ejected from Super Bowl XLIX after throwing punches in a scuffle after Malcolm Butler's interception sealed the 28-24 victory for the Patriots and quarterback Tom Brady was taking a knee with 20 seconds left. Irvin apologized on Monday and said he was just trying to protect a teammate.

Patriots running backBrandon Bolden also was seen holding up one of the anti-Lynch shirts and, in telling off the fan who called him out on Twitter, replied that "the shirt was thrown up there" on his duck boat.

On Thursday, Bolden tweeted that he now regrets holding up the shirt.
