Cal recruit Jemarl Baker released from LOI after Cuonzo Martin's exit

ESPN 100 guard Jemarl Baker received a release from his letter of intent toCalifornia, his AAU coach, Ryan Silver, told ESPN.



Baker is the first Cal recruit to decommit since head coach Cuonzo Martin left the program to take over at Missouri.The Golden Bears promoted assistant coach Wyking Jones to the head coach position.



Baker, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Eleanor Roosevelt High School (California), is ranked No. 65 in the ESPN 100 for 2017. Playing for Earl Watson Elite last spring and summer, Baker was one of the top scorers on the Under Armour Association circuit, averaging 16.8 points.



San Diego State and USC were also heavily involved for Baker before he committed to Cal back in December 2015.
