Coloradocoach Mike MacIntyre said he's confident that formerTexas Techquarterback Davis Webb will keep his commitment to theBuffaloes and join the team as a graduate transfer.
"I talk to Davis Webb basically every day," MacIntyre said Tuesday. "Almost every night. He's told me every time he's definitely coming to Colorado. I don't have any other reason to think why he wouldn't."
Webb, who threw 46 touchdowns over three seasons with Texas Tech, has reportedly been in talks withCalifornia, Auburn and Mississippi State. He has alreadysigned a financial aid agreement with Colorado, but the rules allow him to continue to be recruited by other programs.
MacIntyre said that doesn't sit well with him.
"I just don't like the rule," MacIntyre said. "He signed with us. He signed a financial aid agreement. And then everybody else can still recruit him ... and try to manipulate him, which I do not agree with. I think that's wrong. But that's the way the rule is. But I believe he'll still be here at Colorado."
The Buffs' quarterback situation is murky with starter Sefo Liufau still recovering from a Lisfranc foot injury he suffered toward the end of the 2015 season. If Liufau is healthy, expect him to be the starter. But it's also possible he could redshirt, in which case it's likely Webb would take the starting spot for one season.
