Crews remove field at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara again

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (KGO) -- For the second time in less than a week, the San Francisco 49ers are ripping up the field at Levi's Stadium. Every inch of the sod has been torn up.

Our media partners at the San Jose Mercury News say the team will start installing a new field this weekend, possibly with a different kind of grass.

The sod was replaced Thursday after players kept tripping over divots.

There were more complaints Monday night. The team hopes to have the new field ready by September 6.
